Wilma/Miami Beach party dress, 1950s
I love the unabashed femininity of 1950s party dresses, which discreetly celebrated the female figure. They were ultra sexy while remaining sweet and demure.
The elaborate construction of this dress suggests it was expensive when new. The skirt has two layers of pale blue silk organza over a rose pink taffeta petticoat.
The torso is totally covered with matching blue taffeta petals studded with glittering rhinestones. The skirt has a built-in crinoline. The dress closes in back with a metal zipper.
The condition is excellent and wearable. The dress just shows gentle wear.
It measures: 38" bust, 30" waist, full over the hips, and 46" from shoulder to hem.
