Embroidered rayon crepe evening ensemble, 1930s
This eye catching evening ensemble was the height of fashion in its day. It combines a sexy backless sheathe dress with a shapely embroidered jacket. The dress is bordered around the neckline with matching embroidery.
The dress and jacket both close with fabric-covered buttons and loops, which miraculously are all intact. This is a special find because these buttons can rarely be matched.
The colorful embroidery is executed in wool yarn using chain stitch and satin stitch.
The condition is excellent and wearable.
The dress measures: 36" bust, 29" waist, 38" hip, and 56" from the shoulder to the hem.
The jacket measures: 36" bust, 28" waist, 38" hip, and 31" from the shoulder to the front hem (slightly longer in back).
