Child's linen coat set, c.1905
This beautifully constructed child's coat set was obviously very expensive when new. It came from a wealthy New England estate.
The coat is fashioned from lightweight beige linen and is lined with ivory cotton. It was starched a long time ago when it was last washed. It closes in front with three fancy mother-of-pearl buttons.
The condition is very good. On the collar are a few brown age spots, which generally come out with cleaning; also, a few breaks in the lace trim. These minor flaws are reflected in the price.
It measures: 28" chest, 14' sleeve and 22 1/2" from shoulder to hem.
