Hand-embroidered silk nightgown, 1930s
Nothing today can compare with the luxury of fine silk lingerie from the early twentieth century. This lovely cream colored nightgown, which has never been worn, was hand embroidered in China for the Western market. The naive charm of the hand embroidery has its own seductive allure.
This elegant bias-cut nightgown epitomizes the fluid look of the 1930s. The nightgown is fashioned from cream silk floral damask. The bodice front is beautifully hand embroidered with a grid of flowers. The nightgown, completely hand stitched, ties at the shoulders.
The condition is excellent. It is clean and ready to wear.
It measures: 40" bust, 38" waist, 46" hip, and 59" from shoulder to hem. Bias cuts stretch so the measurements are approximate.
