Hand-embroidered silk nightgown, 1930s
Nothing today can compare with the luxury of fine silk lingerie from the early twentieth century. This lovely cream colored nightgown, which has never been worn, was hand embroidered in China for the Western market. The naive charm of the hand embroidery has its own seductive allure.
This elegant bias-cut nightgown epitomizes the fluid look of the 1930s. The body of the nightgown is fashioned from cream silk floral damask. The bodice front is a double layer of matchg silk net with hand embroidered floral appliqués. The nightgown is completely hand stitched.
The condition is excellent. It is clean and ready to wear.
It measures: 40" bust, 38" waist, 46" hip, and 59" from the shoulder to the hem. Bias cuts stretch so the measurements are approximate.
