Fancy headache band, early 20th century
In the early 20th century, it was thought that "a smooth but strong band applied tightly around the head to compress dilated blood vessels in order to provide relief of migraine headache pain." I cannot guarantee that this charming headache band will provide relief, but it is a delightful historical artifact.
The band, hand-crocheted with blue cotton floss, is bordered all around with ivory cotton lace and trimmed with three silk ribbon flowers.
The condition is excellent .
It measures 15 1/2" long by 3 3/4" wide, excluding the ribbon ties.
