Quilted silk boudoir jacket, 1930s
This unique jacket is embellished in front with gray satin floral appliqués. Each flower has a rhinestone center. The flowers are outlined and connected with couched gray cord. I love the deco plastic buttons with rhinestone centered. The jacket is fashioned from quilted coral silk faille. It is lined with pale peach silk and has two set-in front pockets.
The condition is very good to excellent. The color is slightly darker on the sleeves and collar. The color difference does not bother me, as it may well have been the design intention. There is a miniscule mend on the front as well as slight color variation on the cuffs. These minor flaws are reflected in the price.
The size is marked 12, but vintage sizes run small.
The flared style measures: 42" bust, 46" waist and 52" hip, 17" from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, 18" sleeve length, and 27" from the shoulder to the hem.
