#7440 $750Wide-brim straw hat with floral decoration, c.1905
Romantic wide brim hats from the early 20th century have enduring appeal. This one would be the perfect accessory for an informal wedding. Remember the old English adage:
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.
Made from natural colored straw, the hat boasts the elaborate floral decoration in vogue during the Edwardian period; very much in contrast to the small bonnets of the 1880s, "so low crowned as to seem no more than garlands."
The condition is almost excellent. The hat has been gently worn.
The brim diameter is 17". The inner crown circumference is 21".
