Beaded velvet flapper cloche, late 1920s
Created in 1908 by milliner Caroline Reboux, the cloche style hat became super stylish only during the Roaring 1920s. The close fitting bell shaped hat became synonymous with the fun loving flapper.
Our cloche is fashioned from black velvet and is lined with black silk. The sculpted shape dips to a point on one side. The outer edge is embellished with faceted black glass beads.
The condition is almost excellent.
The opening circumference measures 21 1/2" .
