Wool tweed suit, c.1950
Tailored suits are perfect for the lover of vintage clothing who wants a garment sturdy enough to wear. This one is nicely detailed with decorative welts, slash pockets, and decorative buttons.
The buttons are really special! They have bronze metal rims and rhinestones in the center. The jacket is lined with black silk crepe; the skirt is unlined. The suit is fashioned from black wool woven with flecks of sapphire blue. The skirt closes on the side with a metal zipper. The label reads "Sage Allen of Hartford."
The condition is almost excellent and wearable. You will probably want to have the suit cleaned because it has been in storage for a long time. Otherwise it is fine.
The jacket measures: 42" bust, 35" waist, 42" hip, 16" from sleeve cap to sleeve cap, 23 1/2" sleeve length, and 23" from the shoulder to the hem.
The skirt measures: 32" waist, 42" hip, and 27" length.
