Appliquéd, beaded evening cape, 1960s
Modern fashion was born in Northern Italy in the mid 14th century. Since that time, the cape has cycled in and out of the high-style fashion focus. In the 1960s, they were featured in outerwear; beach coverups; and eveningwear. Our beaded cape is an inspired example of embellished design.
Totally covered with black faceted sequins, the stylish cape showcases lifelike three-dimensional flowers. The ingenious design features free standing black organza petals with centers of black beads.
On the stand-up collar, the faceted black novelty beads are outlined with black seed beads. The bottom edge of the cape is bordered with a row of black organza bows.
The cape is lined with black silk and closes in front with concealed hooks.
The condition is excellent and wearable.
It measures: 16" neckline circumference and 20" center-front length from neckline to hem.
