Child's fancy silk bonnet, early 20th century
Antique children's bonnets can still be found at affordable prices. Mothers could not bear to part with these treasured mementoes of childhood, so they were lovingly tucked away. They are often abundantly embellished with handwork and in excellent condition.
This one is fashioned from ivory silk faille and is lined with matching silk organza. The brim is decorated with an embroidered scalloped ruffle, cording, lace ruffles and satin ribbon rosettes.
The condition is excellent.
It measures 5" from front to back.
