David Hart lace/satin party dress, 1950s
Black lace remains a perennial favorite because of its association with the romance and mystery of the night. In the masterfully graphic design, the lace is paired with cream colored satin.
The dress is ingeniously constructed to hold the shape. The bodice is boned and lined with matching faille; the skirt is lined with buckram and has an attached crinoline. The dress closes in back with a metal zipper.
The condition is almost excellent. The only problem is a stain on the front of the skirt. More lace can be added to cover this if it does not clean out. This is reflected in the price.
It measures: 32" bust, 24" waist, full over hip, and 36" center-front length.
