Alligator Kelly style bag by Bellestone, 1950s
Savvy collectors have discovered that fine vintage, skin handbags in excellent condition offer the look without the high price tag. New alligator bags in luxury stores generally sell for $3,000-$15,000.
This superb brown alligator bag features a brass frame and a cream colored leather interior with three pockets. The bag comes with the original comb and mirror.
The bag is marked Bellestone on one of the inner pockets and is stamped "Made in Belgium" on the inside of the purse frame.
The condition is almost excellent. On the interior metal is slight oxidation, which does not show on the outside.
It measures 7 1/4" high by 10" wide.
