Calvin Klein damask jacket, c.1985
With his clean, simple designs of the 1970s, Calvin Klein redefined sportswear and won several Coty awards. His casual, chic style has been described as wholesome and all-American. His business acumen and daring marketing campaigns launched a global fashion empire.
The jacket was fashioned in America from linen/cotton damask imported from Italy. The blue roses in the delightful floral pattern evoke longing for a simpler, happier time—country outings and Edwardian tea parties.
The simple, straight cut and minimal detailing of the jacket subtly enhance the sweet nostalgia of the design motif. Yet the streamlined styling makes it all quite modern. The jacket closes in front with hidden buttons—see the detail picture below.
The condition is excellent and wearable.
The size is marked 4. It measures: 38" bust, 35" waist, 38" hip, 15 1/2" from sleeve cap to sleeve cap, and 26" from the shoulders to the hem.
