Straw spoon bonnet, 1860s
This Civil War period bonnet is fashioned from beige straw, which is in excellent condition. The bonnet appears to have been relined with lilac silk. The tulle ruffle trim might be original.
This bonnet is an excellent choice for if you enjoy doing the research and then restoring the correct period decoration—a great way to add value to a charming period piece.
The condition is very good. The straw is excellent; the original decoration is missing.
On the back of the bonnet is a small paper tag which is printed "16".
