Child's Irish crochet bonnet, early 20th century
Antique children's bonnets can still be found at affordable prices. Mothers could not bear to part with these treasured mementoes of childhood, so they were lovingly tucked away. They are often abundantly embellished with handwork and in excellent condition.
This one is fashioned from handmade Irish crochet lace and lined with pink silk. Each side is decorated with a pink ribbon rosette.
The condition is excellent.
It measures 7" from front to back.
