Cotton nightgown, late 19th century
This sturdy nightgown, fashioned from cotton broadcloth, is both lovely and utilitarian. The bodice and cuffs are trimmed with bands of cotton insertion lace, fancy braid trim, and lace ruffles. The gros grain ribbon drawstrings are original. I love the box pleats in back.
The condition is excellent and all original.
It measures: 40" bust, 22" sleeve length (including the ruffle), 11" from the shoulder to the under bust, and 56" from the shoulder to the hem.
