1950s party dress

#2265          $850  Sold

Ivory nylon tricot party dress, 1950s

I love the contrast of sexy styling to the pristine ivory in this party dress, which is guaranteed to turn heads (and keep them turned). The use of silky nylon tricot fabric results in a fluid, softened interpretation of the usual 1950s draped-bodice dress.

This killer dress (3rd picture from the bottom) brings to mind the famous poster for the 1943 hit movie, The Outlaw. Howard Hughes (engineer, industrialist, movie mogul) directed Jane Russell and turned her into an instant sex symbol. He used his engineering background to design a special bra for the buxom Miss Russell.

Every few years, a popular magazine will run a special issue with articles written by men and devoted to the subject "What do women want?" There is no need for scholarly discussions on what men want.

The bodice of our dress, which is ruched and pleated to accentuate your curves, is boned and backed with stiff mesh for support. The full circle skirt has a built-in organza crinoline. The dress closes in back with a metal zipper and small hooks.

The condition is excellent and wearable.

It measures: 36" bust, 28" waist, full in the hip, 9" center-front bodice length, and 31 1/2" skirt length.
