Japanese silk haori, c.1920
This superb silk haori is fashioned from taupe silk, woven with a delicate, understated pattern. The haori is partially lined with patterned ivory silk. The short kimono-style sleeves are easy and comfortable. If you are not a traditionalist, you can use this as a dressing gown.
The condition is almost excellent. I found a few pale spots that blend in with the taupe ground—it has not been cleaned.
The body has a circumference of 46". It measures 32" from the shoulder to the hem.
