#2420          $350

Mixed lace blouse, c.1905

This beautiful blouse combines an amazing variety of period laces with panels of embroidered tulle. The high stand up collar and longer-in-front style is correct for the period.

Unfortunately, the small collar circumference is unlikely to fit a modern woman. To retain the correct period style, you can add extra lace to both the collar and the back opening.

See how one collector dealt with this problem. In the Treasure Hunt Section, I sometimes list easy restoration projects for which I haven't the time. My loss is your gain. In restored condition, a period blouse with such fine lace would sell for over $500.

The blouse closes in back with hooks—I pinned it in the pictures.

The condition is almost excellent. The bottom hem needs to be finished; and a few hooks need to be replaced.

It measures: 36" bust, 12 1/2" neckline circumference, 19" center-front length from the neckline to the hem, and 18" center-back length.
