Hair ornament with original box, c.1878
This exquisitely crafted hair ornament came in its original box marked "1878". The leaves and flowers in back look like they might be waxed paper. The fronts are dusted with mica glitter—the pictures did not capture the sparkle. Each flower has a faux pearl in its center.
The ornament, which is one of the finest I have seen, is a special find.
The condition is excellent.
It measures 5" long by 2" wide.
