Bias-cut rayon satin nightgown, 1930s
The term bias cut has become synonymous with the Hollywood look of the 1930s. A diagonal or bias-cut garment molds to the figure like spandex. This sexy nightgown is an excellent buy if you want the Hollywood look without the higher price of a mint condition garment.
The nightgown is fashioned from peach rayon satin. The bodice front is shirred and decorated with bands of lace and ribbon bows. There are ties in back to adjust the fullness in the waist.
The condition is almost excellent. The nightgown is perfect other than some pull marks on the fabric. They were not picked up by the camera and are not a serious flaw.
Bias cuts stretch, so the measurements are approximate.
It measures unstretched: 36" bust, 32" waist, 38" hip, and 57" from the shoulder to the hem.
