Yves Saint Laurent silk scarf, c.1960
When Yves Saint Laurent retired, the world of high fashion lost a creative genius. The master of couture was a towering influence in the world of fashion for over thirty years.
This beautiful silk scarf of heavy silk twill was designed for Yves Saint Laurent by André Barrieu. The clean, bold plaid print is rendered in strong color combinations. The hem is hand-rolled to the front.
The scarf was purchased in the 1960s by an artist/author, who realized that the prints were worth collecting. It has never been worn.
The condition is mint.
It measures 34" square.
