DeMario necklace

#6432          $600

DeMario crystal bead choker necklace, 1950s

Costume jewelry by Robert DeMario was produced only from 1945 to about 1960, when the artist retired. The rarity and exquisite craftsmanship of DeMario pieces make them highly collectible.

The delicately crafted necklace is a fine example of why DeMario's work is often mistaken for that of Haskell. The pendant has sparkling, amber-colored, cut crystal beads and stones in a delicate setting of gold tone leaves.

I love the alternating textures of the gold tone chains and crystal beads. The necklace closes with a fine floral clasp. The necklace is signed "DeMario/NY" on the back.

The condition is excellent.

The pendant is 1 3/4" by 1 1/2". The inner circumference of the choker, when tightly closed, is 14". It can be made longer by adjusting the clasp.
