French brocade valence, early 20th century
This fabulous brocade valence was purchased at the flea market in Paris many years ago. The fabric is as strong and beautiful today as when it was new.
The outside is fashioned from high-quality heavy brocaded silk. It is lined with mustard colored glazed cotton. The lower edge is trimmed with braided fringe that has some wear. This would be very easy to replace.
The condition is almost excellent. The only damage is on the trim.
It measures 91" long by 21" wide, excluding the ball drops.
